Safely Transporting Your Feline Friend

Getting your furry friend to the Vet Clinic is not always an easy feat. Follow these steps to help make it a more enjoyable experience for you and your pet.

  • Make your cat feel comfortable and familiar with the carrier. You can try leaving it out somewhere in the house with the door open for a few days before their visit, putting treats inside or even feeding them in it. You can also try putting familiar bedding or clothing with your scent on it.
  • Keeping yourself calm will help them feel calm and safe. Cats can sense our anxiety or frustrations, which will only make the situation worse.
  • Reward positive behavior, they do not learn from force or punishment. This could be by giving a treat or even playing with their favorite toy.
  • Another option would be to try Feliway, this is a synthetic feline pheromone that will help with stressful situations.
