Everyone who shares a home with a pet should have a basic pet first aid kit on hand.
Keep a kit in your home and in your car if you travel with your pet. You can buy a first aid kit for people and add pet-specific items to it, or you can make your own!
The following is a recommended list of items to keep in your first aid kit:
- Vet Wrap/Bandage
- Iodine Pads
- Hydrogen Peroxide
- Benadryl (Diphenhydramine)
- Eye Flush (Saline)
- Quick Stop
Paperwork to have on hand:
- Updated vaccination history report, showing what vaccines your pet is up to date
- Veterinarian’s phone number
- Nearest emergency veterinary clinic’s phone number (& directions on how to get there)
